We are glad to have Ms. Andrea WU, a Firebase engineer at Google, to come in town and share more about Firebase with us!
About Andrea
Andrea is a Firebase engineer who spends the majority of her time coming up with ideas on how to help developers use Firebase, resulting in a lot of videos, blogposts, code, and talks. As she also greatly cares about diversifying the tech industry, she teaches and mentors students typically underrepresented in tech through Google and for non-profits, and in her free time, she hikes and runs in nature with her camera, meets people from all over the world as she lives nomadically, and writes – all without a phone.

Building an app from scratch is often daunting, as there are many moving parts and factors to consider. With Firebase, which is Google’s mobile and web app development platform, you’ll have many different products to help you build and run successful apps, regardless of the platform (web, Android, iOS, Unity, etc) you’re using. Come learn how various Firebase products, such as Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions, Machine Learning, Hosting, and Cloud Messaging can support building a new app with ease and abstract away infrastructure management to allow focusing on users, and Remote Config can help with a feature flagging, which is used to hide features to prevent exposing it to users in the middle of development!
